In everyday life, we often encounter anxious feelings that interfere with our daily life. Particularly when it is associated with thoughts and feelings. Ever tried your best but still did not succeed? Feeling exhausted by your surrounding? The feeling of being little in yourself?

Those feelings often have a correlation with other people. We tend to compare what we have and what others have. This incident causes the anxiousness of ourselves where we feel that our self-worth is not as good as other people's. For example, when the people around us have managed to get more achievements, have good skills, or maybe you think someone's appearance is good unlike you?

I often experienced it. When someone has excellent drawing skills but I can’t do that at all, I feel bad for myself. Isn’t it funny when we compare our own self to others? what would I get to compare our weakness to other strength? Absolutely irrelevant. But the fact is yes, a lot of us would even compare small things to others. When we know that this shouldn’t be done but in our head, we still do.

So when I had this thought inside my head, I would come up with something. I surf on the internet and find out how to stop it. Then here are the tips I found useful to do

You are You and They are Them.

You can’t ignore the fact that every individual is different. We build different, we have the way to think different, and our surrounding is also different. If all of that were different then how come we want something equal? In fact, the differences make everything beautiful. Since we have our portion and could be completed like puzzles do. We are like a different piece of puzzle trying to fit together into one. The shapes of each piece of puzzle are not the same, right? But they fit when they met the right shape.

Try to be more Grateful for what We have

We can’t change every situation we are in, but we can be more grateful into it. Instead of wasting the time on the thought of “what if i have this” “What if I have that” embrace what exactly we have right now. Becoming aware of our surroundings can affect our hard work and effort. For example, I came from the middle family where education is not the number one priority and daughter or women were expected to get married for the family. But for me, I have a very high intention on education that I want to learn many things. Sometimes I have this kind of thought “What if I born into the surrounding who support me on education, It would have been better for me.” Those thought were simply an excuse for me, because I believe privilege come to people who works hard. Then I have changed my thought into “I want to get better by myself so I can change my surrounding.” See? Now I have awareness of myself and grateful for my surrounding. It adds more value into my journey.

Focus on Things You Good At

Now came to this section. After learn to be aware of yourself then you can continue by focusing on things you good at. Try putting a thought and make a list of “What am I good at?” Look deeply to yourself and ask yourself. Write down even things such us “I treat people with kindess” “I can be a good leader in a team” Come one, embrace yourself and find them! You are special in your own way. You will understand the potential that makes you worth more than anything. Focus on those things and keep on doing your best to work on that. Remember! There will always be trial and errors so do not stop on your way but try again and again.

Practice, Practice, and Practice!

It is not easy and obviously not an instant way to do. To change the entire mindset of yours need a long time and a long process. The comparing thingy would always popped up in your mind through the process and it’s okay. Simply remember things you should be done. The important thing is to not let you suffers because of your negative thought. Instead of making yourself feels bad why don’t you take it as another opportunity to realize something within yourself? Believe in your, aware of your feeling, and let yourself grow. Because the flowers will bloom beautifully in spring after passed the whole winter.
